The Tehran Electronic Trade Association requested the relevant officials and responsible institutions to provide the ground for holding the virtual business union elections as soon as possible.
Attached to the IDEA, it was in July of 2023 that the Supreme Board of Supervision of Trade Union Organizations of the country again demanded to hold elections for the Union of Virtual Businesses. Some time ago, a number of large internet businesses had complained in a letter to the Minister of Silence about the non-holding of the virtual business union elections and wanted to hold these elections as soon as possible. The last election of the virtual business union was canceled due to the division of the union into two distribution and service unions.
If we want to go back, in fact, there have been no elections in the virtual business union for more than two years, and now Mina Mehrnoosh has been appointed as the head of virtual businesses by the Ministry of Security, and this has made some of the union Do not accept it as a people’s union.
The first time was in the month of November 2021, which was the initial date of holding the elections of the Internet Business Union. At that time, due to the corona virus, the elections were postponed and it was decided to be held after the Nowruz holidays and on the 23rd of April, but due to its coincidence with the month of Ramadan, after That time was postponed and the date of May 19 was set for it; At that time, the issue of separating the virtual business union into two service and distribution unions postponed the election once again.
Now and after continuous follow-ups this time, the e-commerce association in an open letter asked the relevant officials and responsible institutions to provide the ground for holding the virtual business union elections as soon as possible. The text of this letter states: “More than a year has passed since the postponement of the Virtual Business Union elections, and during this time, conflicting and worrying news about its separation has been heard. “Tehran Electronic Commerce Association requests the relevant officials and responsible institutions to take the necessary measures to hold the election of its board of directors as soon as possible and to specify the date of the election while maintaining the integrity of this union.”
Further, the association expressed concern about the separation of this union and announced: “The statements made about the separation of this union into two parts have created concerns about the weakening of the cohesion and the effective position of this trade union. Tehran Electronic Commerce Association considers this decision to be in conflict with the basic goals of this organization, which is the “coherence and unity” of the activists of this industry, and it is hoped that with a strategic plan in this regard, the creation of schism in the union will be prevented and the basis of weakening this institution. A guild will be destroyed.”
