According to the regulatory announcement, the increase in the Internet tariff should not be more than 34%
According to Iran digital economy annotation, The head of the Regulatory and Communications Organization announced by mail that none of the internet packages that were available to users until yesterday should be removed. Lajevardi also emphasized that the price increase should not be more than 34%.
Yesterday, after the operators accepted the terms of the Regulatory Organization and Radio Communications, the official permission to increase the Internet price was issued. Today, mobile operators updated their internet package tariffs. In the meantime, some old packages were removed and new packages were defined, an issue that faced serious opposition from the Regulatory Organization.
In this regard, the Regulatory and Communications Organization emphasized by publishing a post on an internal social network that no internet package should be removed:
No existing package is allowed to be deleted and the maximum price increase of these packages is about 30%.
Also, operators should make new and long-term packages available to the public and immediately inform the price comparison table before and after updating the packages.
“Amir Lajevardi”, the head of this organization, also emphasized in response to this post that none of the packages that were available to users until yesterday should be removed and the price will not increase by more than 34%. According to him, legal action will be taken against the operators who violate these two principles.
In this regard, we see the return of packages that were removed this morning. First Mobile and Irancell operators also informed their subscribers about the new tariff changes by publishing a notice.
At the beginning of the week, mobile operators sent a letter to the president, demanding a 100% increase in internet tariffs. However, the Ministry of Communications set conditions for the price increase, which the operators finally agreed to.
Increasing fifth generation sites to 10% by the end of year, increasing fourth generation coverage in the country to 96% by the end of year, and increasing the average internet speed by 30% in the next six months are among the most important conditions set for operators.
