The executive operation of connecting the cities of Najaf Abad and Khomeinishahr in Isfahan province to optical fiber (FTTX) began with the investment of Asiatech
According to Iran digital economy annotation, with the start of operations in these two cities, within the next year, five cities in Isfahan province will be equipped with fiber optic network with the investment of this company. The operation of optical fiber (FTTX) of Najaf Abad city was started last week with a credit of nearly 205 billion tomans and with drilling of more than 220 km, in order to cover 75 thousand households of this city. In Khomeinishahr city, this operation requires 250 kilometers of digging in the city limits so that 80,000 households in this city can be connected to the fiber optic network.
Najafabad is considered to be the fifth city in Isfahan province, whose optical fiber project is starting with the investment of Asiatech.
According to Asiatech’s public relations, despite Asiatech’s commitment to finish this project before the end of this year, some areas and households will be able to access fiber optic internet. With the completion of this project, the internet speed will reach 100 times the current speed and a good experience will be available to people.
Abdul Rasool Emami, the mayor of Najaf Abad, at the fiber optic fiber (FTTX) executive operation ceremony, emphasized the importance of the city’s citizens’ access to modern technologies and high-speed Internet, and said: turning Najaf Abad into a smart city is one of the goals of the sustainable development of urban management in the last few years. have been. In order to achieve this goal, many efforts have been made to provide the infrastructure and platforms of the smart city for easy access of the citizens to the modern technology of the world.
Therefore, with the efforts made by the information and communication technology management of Najafabad municipality, the implementation contract for the development of the national optical fiber network (FTTX) project of Najafabad with a credit of 205 billion Tomans was concluded between Najafabad municipality and Asiatech company. More than 220 kilometers in length have been started and the preparations for the realization of increasing the speed and bandwidth of the Internet have been made.
Jafar Matlabzadeh, Director General of Communications and Information Technology of Isfahan province, said in this ceremony: “The existing communication networks in the country no longer meet the needs of the people, and for this reason, the optical fiber development program was placed on the agenda of the Ministry of Communications.”
Plans were designed to create 20 million fiber optic ports in the country, of which 1 million and 250 thousand ports are the share of Isfahan province. The completion of this project and the development of optical fiber will provide a good capacity for the use and development of knowledge-based companies in Najaf Abad city and Isfahan province.
The first executive operation of the Asiatec optical fiber project started in October 2022 in Chalus city of Mazandaran province. This project was completed in May of this year with access to more than 30,000 households in this city to high-speed internet based on optical fiber (FTTH) with a capacity of 930 megabits per second.
Based on the planning, the optical fiber (FTTX) project of Najaf Abad city will be put into operation next year.
