According to the April 2024 report of Shaparak Company, the statistics of the number and value of electronic payment network transactions show a natural decrease compared to last March, but compared to a year ago, during the same period, we see an increase in these statistics.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, according to Shaparak, in April 2024, more than 3,918,000 transactions with a value of approximately 20 billion dollors were processed in the card payment electronic network, which showed an increase of 6.07% and 18.48%, respectively, compared to the same month in the previous year.
Depreciation of transactions
This report shows that the real value of transactions in this network has decreased by 31.77% in April 2024 compared to March 2024. This figure shows the value of Shaparak transactions without taking into account the inflation rate, and in case of monthly inflation of 2.65%, the nominal value of transactions will decrease by 29.97%.
Shaparak’s report stated that the point-to-point inflation of April 2024 compared to the same month of the previous year was 30.9%. The point-to-point change in the real value of the transactions of this network has also decreased by 9.49%.
Store card readers at the top
Regarding the number of acceptance tools, in April this year, we have seen a 34% increase in online acceptance tools and a 10% increase in store card readers. While the number of mobile acceptance tools has decreased by 17%.
In terms of the number of transactions, store card readers are ranked first with 91.53%. Internet and mobile acceptance tools are placed in the next categories respectively.
According to this report, the largest volume of the electronic card payment network is related to the purchase of goods and services with a share of 89.35%, and the next categories are the payment of bills and the purchase of mobile phone charging and balance collection.
Shaparak’s statistics show that more than 3 billion and 395 million transactions with an amount of less than 12 dollors were made on store card readers, and thus 94.69% of the transactions of this tool were less than 12 dollors. 900% of card reader transactions were over almost 400 dollors and the rest of the transactions were between 12 dollors and 400 dollors.

In another part of this monthly report, the performance of payment service provider (PSP) companies is reviewed.
Shaparak’s statistics show that “Saman Electronic Payment (SEP)” company had 21.5% of the total amount of transactions in the field of electronic card payment and in this respect it had a more successful performance than other PSPs. “Mellat Payment” with 19.64% and “Parsian E-commerce” with 10.87% are in the next ranks. In this way, SEP has managed to take the place of the people in the last year’s performance.
At the same time, in April of this year, Saman electronic payment company has taken the highest share with 18.75% and 34.54% coverage respectively of the amounts of store card readers and internet acceptance tools, and Mellat Payment Company has also covered 48% of the amounts of mobile acceptance tools. 09% had the highest share.
