Iran National Post Company unveiled 3 intelligent sorting systems for all types of postal items and intelligent sorting systems for the processing of postal items in the presence of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology
According to Iran digital economy annotation, in the process of making the country’s postal network smarter, three intelligent sorting systems for all types of postal items were opened at the country’s postal sorting and exchange center. In the unveiling ceremony of these systems, Mahmoud Liaei, CEO of the Post, said:
“The movement to make the post intelligent has been intensively pursued for two years, and it has gained a faster rhythm in the 13th government, but if there were no government bureaucratic obstacles, now instead of three systems, we could have 30 systems to unveil These strictures have lowered the speed of implementing the systems. The discussion of intelligentization requires the development of infrastructure.”
Liaei also said in the context of these systems: on average, every day in 3 shifts, morning, evening and night, as many as 420,000 types of mail are processed manually and mechanized in the Lashkar’s analysis and exchange center, which with the opening of these systems, the minimum intelligent analysis capacity 22 thousand shipments per hour will be possible and in the near future it will reach the capacity of 40 thousand mechanized analysis per hour.
Smart sorting systems are designed to analyze all types of shipments, including envelopes, small packages, and hollows, and due to the technologies used in them, with one scan, the process of registering the arrival of the shipment is done and it is possible to analyze the shipments to more than 150 destinations listed on the barcode.
The path of intelligentization of the post office continues
According to Liaei, the design and production of these systems was done by three domestic knowledge-based companies based on the latest technologies. He explained about the advantages of these systems: Occupying less area, increasing the speed of the parcels, reducing postal chaos and increasing the quality of services, scanning the entry and exit of all parcels and creating the possibility of real-time monitoring of their progress, reducing costs in the field of human resources, office equipment and necessities. Consumption, lack of need for the user due to the automation of information, system control and monitoring and reducing the dependence on human resources are part of the advantages of these systems.
No government has paid more attention to the National Post Company than the 13th government
In addition, Eisa Zarepour said: Post is the driving force of the country’s digital economy, and technologies can be a tool to increase the level of user satisfaction and increase the accuracy and speed of the National Post Company. We can use the capacities of knowledge-based companies in the path of intelligentization to reach desirable points. No era has paid as much attention to mail as we have, and we have spent a lot of credit on developing mail infrastructure.
He added: During the period of the 13th government, the price increase for the postal service has been considered twice, and for all this, we have shown the government’s reputation. It has been with the support of the government that the postal service is still on the path of infrastructure development. We gave the same value to the infrastructure, we allocated 500 billion tomans from the Ministry’s resources this year for the development of infrastructure and the purchase of trucks. We know that we are far from the ideal situation, but if you compare the situation with the past, you will realize that the 13th government and the Ministry of Communications have placed the National Post Company in its priorities.
A bright year is waiting for the fiber optic project
On the sidelines of this event and in a conversation with reporters in the field of fiber optics, Eisa Zarepour said: 2024 will be a brilliant year for the fiber optic project, our target for 1402 is between 35 and 40 percent, and this percentage will double next year. Currently, 7 million families are covered by fiber optics, and the increase in this number continues every day without stopping. Next year will be a bright year for the fiber optic project.
