The head of the e-commerce development center said: “The possibility of e-commerce with China and Russia has been provided, and Chinese users can buy their desired products by referring to Iranian platforms.”
According to Iran digital economy annotation, “Amin Kolahdoozan” said in a press conference today: “Last year, the volume of e-commerce exceeded 3100 thousand billion tomans, which is approximately equivalent to 51 billion dollars. Based on this, the country’s e-commerce volume has increased by 74% in 2023 compared to 2022.
The head of the e-commerce development center of the Ministry of Security said that it is expected that the volume of e-commerce will increase to almost 86 million dollors this year, adding: “This year, the number of electronic transactions has grown by 31% compared to the previous year. Electronic signature certificates have also grown by 100% last year, and the number of electronic signature certificate holders in the country has doubled.”
Kolahdoozan also said about the pursuit of cross-border e-commerce: “Now we have the possibility of electronic exchange with China and Russia, and we are also looking to establish e-commerce with Iraq.” Chinese users can buy goods from Iranian platforms, and with some considerations, Iranian users can make electronic purchases from Chinese platforms. Of course, this issue is still in the pilot phase.
