The Iranian Fintech Association calls for the amendment of the “Manual of Requirements for the Cooperation of Credit Institutions with Facilitation Companies” with the participation of Lendtech activists.
Attached to Iran digital economy annotation, the website of Central Bank published on Thursday, December 14th, “Requirements regarding the cooperation of credit institutions with assistive facilities” and in those requirements, it is specifically prohibited to receive fees from Lendtechs, which are mentioned in this instruction under the name of assistive facilities. has been This has led to the protest of Lendtech ecosystem activists.
These requirements have been published exactly one month after its approval by the central bank; According to what is mentioned in the document, these requirements were approved on December 15th, that is, exactly two days after the resolution related to neo-banks or digital bank branches was approved and notified.
According to what is stated in the statement of the FinTech Association: “assistive facility companies using technology in the last three years have served more than five million people in all parts of our beloved country, with all income levels and from different walks of life, to receive loans and facilities without guarantors. However, the new directive has been published in silence and without trade union participation and considering the cost structure and business model of the facilities, which has increased the concerns of the activists and businesses of the industry about the process of continuing the activity.
According to the predictions of the FinTech Association, if these requirements and directives of the Central Bank are not amended and the fee for the assistance services is not taken into account, it will create an unstable and ineffective path for the continuation of these businesses. According to the opinion of the Fintech Association, these hasty decisions endanger the existence of the nascent institution of assistance facilities and can lead to major disruptions in these businesses, adjustment of expert human resources, and cessation of service provision.
The Iranian Fintech Association asked the officials of the central bank to make a decision about this area by implementing a transparent and participatory process and taking into account the needs and opinions of all the activists in this area.
