where are you going so fast to be evacuated? We will finalize the contract
According to the IDEA, Hamava company mentioned in its statement that it is not possible to transfer all these companies in this period of one month and the forced evacuation of the factory can cause hundreds of billions of material and moral damage to the economy of the companies located there and cause the dissatisfaction of millions of citizens.
It will have negative and widespread consequences in social networks and media, more than 400 teams are stationed in the factory and 150 to 200 teams have been invested so far.
According to what was heard, the scientific vice-chancellor announced to the people and companies located in the factory, “We will finalize the contract.” Also, apparently, the management of the park campus of the factory plans to tell the truth about this story soon.
Where did the story begin?
About two weeks ago, according to the information published in Kodal, Ama Industrial Company will sell its arena, Ayan and facilities of its former factory, which is known as “Ama” factory, for cash through a public auction. The date of the auction was mentioned on November 16.
At that time, Farzin Fardis, the CEO of Sarava, stated: “I don’t think there is any particular concern regarding the contract of the innovation factory. I hope that with the interaction between Pardis Park and Hamaava and the efforts of these two groups, the problem of the innovation factory will be solved and we will be able to finalize the contract for the extension of the factory.”
CEO of Sarava: We hope that the negotiations will be finalized
Farzin Fardis, CEO of Sarava, told about why the lease extension was not done earlier:
Hamava’s contract with Ama ended in March 2022. Last year we in Hamaava tried to get Ama’s favorable opinion in order to extend the lease and stay there for a certain period of time. We also gave mixed offers. Both the extension and lease offer with updated figures and the participation in the business that is going on there and the share of the income; In fact, it is a fixed rental income and an offer for renting to be combined with buying in the long term.
Fardis continued: But unfortunately, the conditions in the second half of last year were such that the negotiations did not reach a conclusion. Regarding the negotiation with Ama Company, Fardis stated: “Since the end of last year, according to the discretion of the scientific vice-chancellor, we did not continue the negotiation, and it was decided that Park’s friends would continue the negotiation, and they also made a lot of effort in the first months of the year, because able to achieve results and announced several times in meetings and discussions that the negotiations have progressed well.”
The CEO of Sarava stated: “Apparently, the negotiation process has slowed down and has not progressed well, and of course, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor announced that they will soon be able to extend the contract of the factory, and we hope that this will happen and the issue will be resolved.”
Happy renter or 400 billion tomans spent on water?
Azadi innovation factory with an area of more than 18 thousand square meters, includes a main office building and 10 separate sheds, which is the first startup factory in Iran, with the idea of Saeed Rahmani, the founder of Sarava and the investment of this company in the fall of 2016, with the aim that all It was established to cover the needs of entrepreneurs from the acceleration phase to the fundraising in one place.
According to Hamava’s statement, the Saraava company has spent more than 60 billion tomans in the years 2015 and 2016 to set up this factory, and other companies based in the innovation factory have also spent more than 340 billion tomans in the reconstruction and equipping of its infrastructure over the past 6 years. Have.
The complex where the innovation factory is built was the country’s first electrode manufacturing factory called “AMA” decades ago. Ama factory was founded in 1959 by Akbar Alizadeh Rad, but a few decades later, due to the policies of moving industrial units out of Tehran, it became an abandoned factory for several years.
The arrival of the scientific assistant; A showcase for government visits or Iran’s Silicon Valley?!
One year after the start of the innovation factory, through a process with the support of the Presidential Vice President for Science and Technology, this factory became the first satellite branch of Fardis Technology Park and gradually became acceleration and innovation centers in various fields from health to architecture and urban planning, artificial intelligence. And logistics, tourism, insurance and content production were established in its various niches. Zawiyeh, Vcast, Digikalacast, Haft and Hasht, Alibaba and several large and small startup companies are based in Azadi Innovation Factory.
In Hamaava’s statement, “every day, four thousand young entrepreneurs use the factory space to develop their startup and knowledge-based business. Azadi Innovation Factory is one of the most important and largest innovation centers in Iran and the region, which has become an efficient model and national capital for the country and is compared to Station F in Paris.
This fact is confirmed by the visit of dozens of delegations and ministers from different countries of the world to this factory. The opening of the Azadi Innovation Factory by the president and the continuous visit of ministers, deputies of the trilateral forces and other foreign institutions and delegations show the importance of this place in the innovation ecosystem of the country.
With the entry of the scientific vice-chancellor and campus technology park into the innovation factory, which was established by the private sector, some criticized this center that it has become a government showcase and the government sector should never have entered this innovation factory.
Maybe it was the government’s entry that made the companies think about the cost they spend in this place, and never think that the factory rent will come to a dead end! On the other hand, in the narratives of the establishment of the factory, the dream of building Iran’s Silicon Valley is seen by the private sector, which is now thin and wants only to survive.
During these years, Sarava company as the initial investor, Hamava and Pardis Technology Park, according to their managers, made all their efforts to keep the light of this creative startup environment of the country and the many companies based in it, which inspired the establishment of dozens of innovation and startup centers and the construction of factories. Innovation was all over the country. According to the statistics, 4,000 people visit this factory on average every day.
It is not clear that with the evacuation of Azadi Innovation Factory, the companies and creative people based there should move to which place at once, and what will be the future of Iran’s first and largest startup center? With this decision and other big challenges, can we hope for the future of Iran’s startup ecosystem and other innovation centers? Why is Ama Industrial Complex determined to quickly sell a factory that has been abandoned for more than a decade, despite several thousand entrepreneurs and startup companies working in it?!
A property with an area of 18,000 meters and a land value of several thousand billions without industrial use in the heart of the capital is unlikely to find a more effective use. What will happen to the billion architectural costs and innovative and up-to-date changes that companies have made in the space and sheds of this abandoned factory?! Will the lights of the innovation tower of this center be turned off forever?!
