The mayor of Amol announced the signing of a contract with Shatel Company to implement the development of fiber optic network to reach a smart city in Amol
According to the Iran digital economy annotation, On the sidelines of the operationalization of the contract for the development of the optical fiber network, which is the infrastructure of a smart city, the mayor of Amol told: Amol is the first non-central city of the province to be developed in the country after big cities such as Mashhad, Tehran, Karaj and Qom. The smart city became operational.
Ali Davoudi added: The investment value of this project, which Amol Municipality has signed with Shatel Company, is about 420 billion Rials.
He added: Currently, this plan has been implemented only in some centers of the provinces, and the city of Amol is one of the first cities that will be implemented with the investment and participation of Shatel Company.
Mayor of Amol said: This plan is planned in three phases, and the fiber optic network will be more than 70 kilometers long, including main streets, side streets, and alleys.
Davoudi added: The implementation of optical fiber is a prerequisite for every smart city, which allows citizens to use high-speed home internet and new technologies related to it as a prerequisite for direct interaction with society, improving the quality of performance, reducing costs and optimal consumption of resources.
Amol city has a population of about 300,000 people.
