According to the Iran digital economy annotation, Hossein Sajedi said this afternoon on December 18 at a press conference focusing on the implementation of fiber optics in Kerman: In the 13th government, 80% of urban households should have fiber for homes and businesses.
Referring to the requirements of fiber optic implementation, he said: 20 million households in the country were handed over to web companies between 9 licensed operators and Kerman province.
Director General of Communications and Technology of Kerman, referring to the leadership of this province in the implementation of this project, stated: Coordination and obtaining permission from the municipality is the most difficult stage of the implementation of this project, and according to the price list, the operator must pay 100 thousand tomans for the implementation of each fiber optic meter in the provincial centers and in the cities to pay 50 thousand tomans to the municipalities so that the municipality issues a license, but in Kerman city it was decided that the work should be done in partnership and it was suggested that the municipalities should not receive money from the operator and five percent of the optical fiber revenue should be given to the municipality.
Referring to the non-commercial use of fiber optics by municipalities to meet their needs, he clarified: Municipalities can implement fiber optic projects in their cities in partnership or based on tariffs.
Sajedi stated: Fiber optic installation in Kerman with 500 km was completed in three weeks in three shifts with more than 1000 people, which is considered one of the biggest communication projects in the country.
He continued: The implementation of fiber optics in other cities will begin next week, and if the municipalities cooperate, all the cities of Kerman province will be equipped with fiber optics by the end of the year.

He considered the dissatisfaction of the people to be right and said: the difficulty of two or three months is worth 50 years of comfort and the asphalt will be ready in the next three months. Sajedi announced the cost of implementing fiber optics in the province at about 3000 billion tomans and added: “All the sites in Kerman city will be connected to fiber and the 5G platform will be ready in the province, and with the implementation of fiber optics, the internet speed in Irancell will be five times and the fixed internet will be 80 times compared to ADCL. Sajedi stated: Fiber optic service will be available in Kerman city from next month, and at first we will have limited coverage and full coverage by next year, and next year it will be provided to people at a low cost.
In another part of his speech about rural internet, he also said: From the beginning of the 13th government until today, 530 villages have been connected to high-speed internet with a credit amounting to 1000 billion tomans.

Reactivation of the provincial data center
Director General of Communications and Information Technology of Kerman province stated: two mobile phone operators are set to build 280 new sites in Kerman province and with the implementation of these projects, the internet coverage will reach the optimal level.
He clarified: It is economically beneficial to build a site for operators in cities, but the rent and fees specified by the municipalities are practically no longer economically beneficial.
Sajedi spoke about the shutdown of the data center of the province for three years and said: The data center of the province has been renovated and the data center of Kerman province will be activated soon.
Regarding the digital economy, he also stated: the initial document has been prepared, and its implementation will be keyed from the beginning of next year with the help of all relevant institutions, and we are looking to obtain 10% of the country’s digital economy share.
