The Ninth Computer Games Festival, the first investment event after a four-year hiatus, will be held in January 2024.
According to IDEA Report, Mohammad Amin Hajhashemi, the CEO of the National Foundation for Computer Games, stated that the ninth edition of the Computer Games Festival, after a four-year hiatus, will be held as part of the Fajr Computer Games Festival in December of this year.
The first investment event in computer games
Hajhashemi mentioned that the ninth Computer Games Festival Fajr edition will, in a way, also mark the first investment event in computer games.
The first Computer Games Festival was held in 2011 (1390 in the Iranian calendar) and provided a platform for competition among teams and game development companies in two categories: major games and independent games. The eighth edition of this festival was held in 2018 (1397 in the Iranian calendar) with the aim of selecting the best Iranian games. Due to the circumstances arising from the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting restrictions, this festival was not held for four years. Now, the ninth edition, titled the Fajr Computer Games Festival, will take place simultaneously with other cultural festivals such as cinema, theater, music, visual arts, fashion, and more, which are organized to celebrate the Fajr Decade in the country.
