Hossein Afshin, the Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, issued an official letter dismissing Reza Bakhshi Ani, the Vice President for Knowledge-Based Economy Development.
According to Ideaagency, in this letter, Afshin has identified instability in decision-making, addressing secondary issues unrelated to the path of knowledge-based economy development, and distancing himself from the pragmatic spirit as the main reasons for this decision. Referring to field interviews with technology ecosystem activists, including during a recent trip to Kermanshah province, he has pointed to the accumulation of dissatisfaction and reports of structural inefficiency in this deputy.
The vice president for science emphasized that there were numerous pending projects that he had to personally pursue. Neglect of basic missions and lack of focus on the country’s technological capabilities were other issues that were not corrected despite repeated reminders. According to Afshin, this situation has led to dissatisfaction among the elite and entrepreneurs.
