The central bank announced that the total limit for card purchase transactions for real customers in the entire banking network will increase from one billion rials to two billion rials.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, the central bank, citing the “instructions for clarifying bank transactions” of individuals, announced that the withdrawal limit from the account for the total number of cards of each person is 200 million tomans per day. This number was equivalent to one billion rials or one hundred million tomans. According to this instruction, every real customer will be allowed to withdraw two billion rials daily from all their accounts in any credit institution in absentia.
According to banking laws, customers who request to withdraw amounts above 200 million tomans are allowed to withdraw up to 400 million tomans from the account in person and by visiting the bank. It is necessary to “provide positive documents” in order to withdraw more than this amount.
Banks and credit institutions of the country are obliged to comply with other relevant rules and requirements, including anti-money laundering regulations, and to ensure the proper implementation of all regulations by bank branches.
It is worth mentioning that all the mentioned thresholds will be implemented by the end of Farvardin 1403 after the preparation of necessary technical measures in coordination with the country’s banking network and payment network.
