Melkifar: This year we will have a special package to meet the requirements of the production jump and the slogan of 2024.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, Siavash Melkifar, the vice president of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund, considers the country’s main goal in the knowledge-based field to be increasing the production share of companies in this field and the development of the knowledge-based economy and its share in the GDP. Emphasizing this goal, he announced that currently, the share of knowledge-based production in the total gross domestic product has increased:
According to the latest statistics, the share of knowledge-based production in the gross domestic product has reached about 2.76 percent of the total gross domestic product, and the government’s goal in the seventh economic development plan of the country is to increase this number to 7 percent.
A few days ago, the president’s vice president for science, technology and knowledge-based economy pointed to the increase in sales and exports in knowledge-based companies and while pointing out that knowledge-based companies have filled important needs and basic gaps with their continuous activities, he said:
The sales of knowledge-based companies last year was more than 10 billion dollors, and the export figure of these companies reached 2 billion dollars, which was three times the amount of export of these companies in 2022.
Knowledge foundations provide the basis for people’s participation in the production and realization of the slogan of 2024
Melkifar calls the main goal and plan of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund to increase this share and explains that the realization of this increase in the share of the knowledge-based economy requires both quantitative and qualitative growth. He continues:
In this regard, we will have a plan to increase the number of knowledge-based companies, which will be unveiled soon. Some of these programs will be improved and evolved versions of previous programs and another part will be new programs.
The vice president of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund has also explained the plans in line with the realization of the slogan of 2024:
“In the innovation fund, like every year, we try to adjust our services according to the slogan of the year and the macro-policies of the government and government. This year, we will have a special package to respond to the requirements of the production jump and the slogan of 2024.”
According to him, considering that this year’s slogan is production leap with people’s participation, knowledge-based companies are one of the examples of people’s participation in production because they are private sector in nature.
According to the vice president of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund, as much as the production jump in companies is helped, it will actually be a move towards the realization of the slogan of the year, because knowledge-based companies themselves are an example of people’s participation in the economy.
Facilitation, investment, guarantee and service empowerment are in line with the support of knowledge bases
Siavash Melkifar announces that to fulfill the slogan of 2024, supporting knowledge-based companies is also on the agenda. He says in this context:
Most of our tools in the Innovation Fund have a financial aspect, and we provide services to knowledge-based companies in four groups: facilities, guarantees, investments, and empowerment. This year, we have compiled packages in the two parts of the slogan of the year, i.e. production jump and also people’s participation, and we hope to be able to implement detailed plans in this area.
He further adds that these packages are mainly in the form of providing facilities, investment and providing free empowerment services, and according to him, such programs will directly help knowledge-based companies and will lead to an increase in people’s participation in knowledge-based production.
In addition to the support and facilitation packages, crowdfunding is another solution of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund to attract capital for knowledge-based production. In this context, Melkifar points to a previous experience and explains:
Last year, about 4 million dollors of people’s resources were injected into knowledge-based companies with the broadcast of Shokoufa TV program, and this year, this program will be implemented in the form of crowdfunding more prominently and with a leap compared to last year.
The provision of working capital facilities is also among the priority programs of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund, which the vice president of development of this fund explains: “For example, a company that had sales of about 2 million dollors in one year with a production growth plan, the next year with the help of financial tools such as The working capital facility should sell about 5 million dollors.
