After the Central Bank, the Central Insurance and the Stock Exchange Organization, the Ministry of Security has set up its own sandbox as a sector regulator.

In the IDEA report, Amin Kolahdozan, the head of the e-commerce development center, announced the official start of the sandbox of the Ministry of Security under the leadership of the e-commerce development center.

The head of the e-commerce development center said about the time period of converting a temporary license to a permanent license in Sandbox: Sandbox is a place where the government and the private sector have decided together to follow a specific path to create new regulations. For this reason, there is no fixed and specific time in this process, and according to the business model and its risks, this time will be different. However, according to the law, the minimum time to be in the sandbox is six months, but on average, this process will take between six months and one year.

Kolahdozan also announced that the time for evaluating and accepting businesses in the sandbox of the Ministry of Security is less than one month. Regarding the acceptance of cryptocurrencies in the ministry’s sandbox, he said: the regulation of cryptocurrencies is the responsibility of the Central Bank, and this field is not included in the sandbox of the ministry. However, we welcome blockchain businesses in business, especially e-commerce.

The head of the e-commerce development center recently mentioned the concept of sandbox in the world and said: In the world, the sandbox is less than 15 years old and is a structure for regulators who want to advance the development of innovation.

He continued: Laws and regulations are always one or two steps behind innovation, and for this reason, innovative businesses face conflicts with laws and regulations in part of their activities. Sandbox has been an answer to this problem faced by innovative businesses. In Iran, this discussion was raised in the country and approved under the National Center for Virtual Space. Based on the regulations created in this resolution, regulatory bodies were allowed to design their own sandbox to organize rules and regulations.

The head of the e-commerce development center said: Because of this, sandbox licenses were granted to the institutions of the Central Bank, the Stock Exchange and the Central Insurance Agency, and the Ministry of Security, centered on the e-commerce development center, is one of the sector sandboxes that has been operating in the trade sector since September of this year. He pointed to the official start of the sandbox of the Ministry of Privacy and said: So far, meetings have been held to review all aspects related to this work, and now the implementation preparations for the sandbox of the Ministry of Privacy have been completed. With the official launch of the sandbox of the Ministry of Security, we invite businesses that have problems in the field of regulations to apply to be in the sandbox if they wish. If the conditions are met, temporary licenses should be granted to these companies so that they can start their activities and after that they can get a permanent license through the processes.
