The personal data protection bill, which was approved in February 2023 in the seventh session of the special working group for the digital economy with the presence of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, has now been approved by the legal commission of the government.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, the details of the proposed bill for the protection and protection of personal data that was prepared and compiled in the special commission for the digital economy, based on what was announced by the public relations of the Ministry of Communications, in the meeting of the special commission for the digital economy chaired by Issa Zarepour and with the presence of the Minister of Science, Research and Technology; It was approved by the head of the Broadcasting Organization and the representatives of the Ministers of Economy and Finance, Culture and Islamic Guidance and a group of ministers and deputies.
After the approval of this bill in the legal commission of the government, the text of which has not been published yet, Issa Zarepour has considered the protection of personal data of users in cyberspace as one of the most important factors of people’s trust in internal platforms.

It should be noted that this bill was approved by the special working group of the digital economy, which was referred to the government board, and now, after the approval of this bill by the legal commission of the government, it will be referred to the Islamic Council to become a law.
