The general assembly of the VC Iran Association was held. In this ceremony, the members of the sixth board of directors of this association were selected.
On September 18th, the General Assembly of the VC Association was held at the Parsian Esteghlal Hotel in Tehran, according to Idea‘s report. This event took place from 3 PM to 7 PM. After presenting the annual financial report of the association and the approval by the inspector, the association moved on to the voting stage for its board of directors.
Mohammad Mehdi Faridvand, the former chairman of the association’s board of directors, presented a report on the activities of the fifth term of this organization. According to Faridvand, the VC Association was founded in 2012, and over the years, it has taken steps toward interacting with the government and providing intellectual assistance by producing content.
The former chairman of the VC Association’s board of directors considered the official membership and legal status of this organization in the ‘Technology Steering Council and Knowledge-Based Productions’ working group as one of the most important achievements of the association in the past year. According to him, this working group is the most significant organization overseeing the country’s technology ecosystem.
Faridvand explained the actions that the association has taken in the past year, stating, ‘The association has been an intellectual and interactive arm of the scientific deputy, and we have participated in events wherever possible.’ He also mentioned that in the year 2022, the association held 11 formal sessions and 10 extraordinary sessions. He further highlighted negotiations with the Central Bank to provide guarantees to member funds.
Mohammad Hossein Sajadi Naeiri (Techno Tejarat), Mehdi Sadat Rasoul (Sharif Fund), Mohammad Mehdi Faridvand (Tehran Fund), Abbas Ali Karshenas (Talashgaran Fund), Siavash Samimi (Setaregan Fund), Arash Farahvashi (Lorestan Fund), and Reza Baqeri (Smartup) were elected as the 7 members of the board of directors of the association. Farzin Fardis (CEO of Sarava) and Mehdi Abbaskhani (CEO of Harekat-e-Aval) were also elected as alternate members of the association. The chairman of the board of directors of the VC Association will be determined one month later.
