The new organizational structure of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has come with changes, including the addition of the National Information Network Development Deputy.
Previously, the responsibility for advancing this network was under the Deputy of Planning and Strategic Supervision, which has now transitioned to the Deputy of Policy-making, Planning, Digital Development, and Digital Economy.
According to the reports from IDEA, the new organizational chart of the Ministry of Communications has been approved and communicated in line with the implementation of Article 29 of the Law on Public Service Management, resulting in changes to the structure of this ministry.
In light of these changes, the number of deputies in this ministry has reached five with the addition of the National Information Network Development Deputy. Previously, the National Information Network’s governance in the Ministry of Communications was the responsibility of the Deputy of Planning and Strategic Supervision.
With its updated responsibilities, this deputy has been transformed into the Deputy of Policy-making and Planning for Digital Development and Digital Economy.
Another significant change evident in the new organizational chart is the elevation of the position of the Secretary of the Executive Council of Information Technology, who is now at the same level as the Deputy Minister.
Furthermore, the organizational structure of the Information Technology Organization has also been revised with the approach of ‘developing smart government services, regulating and developing digital platforms and IT businesses’. Although the details of this revision have not yet been announced.
Hadi Aslanzadeh, the Deputy of Human Capital Development and Resource Management, regarding the recent changes, stated: The new organizational structure has been developed and communicated with the aim of maximizing specialization of organizational units, harmonizing coordination and effective interaction between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and its affiliated institutions, in order to achieve the intended goals and necessary synergies.
