Sattar Hashemi explained about the ministry’s plans to solve the filtering problem.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, the Minister of Communications of the 14th government, on the sidelines of his introduction ceremony and the farewell ceremony of “Eisa Zarepour”, answered questions about filtering and the National Information Network.
Hashemi said in response to the question, “How is the path to remove the filters of the platforms going to be taken”: “Currently, the virtual world is our real world; The world we live in. If we look closely at the world we live in, we will realize that it is not just tools, streets, buildings and physical objects. Naturally, a spirit rules this space that makes life flow. It is the same in cyberspace. That is, if we only focus on technical solutions, these solutions are medium-term at best, and from my point of view, short-term.
He continued: “Given the developments we have in the field of technology, whatever method we choose, it will no longer be efficient and will not create value for the end user after a short period of time. Therefore, our approach is to look at all the components as a bio with different dimensions, not just from a technical point of view. The basis of this work is consensus, because this issue has different dimensions: content production, cultural, economic issues, etc. If these things don’t go together and we concentrate everything only in the technical field, naturally problems will arise.”
Sattar Hashemi’s Plan to Address Filtering Issues
The Minister of Communications said about the way of interaction between different devices to remove the filter: “We implement policies in the Ministry of Communications, but there are two approaches. One approach is to not get into it. But the second view that we believe in is the active view, because we are in direct contact with people and naturally we are obliged to collect feedback. With the cooperation of experts and specialists from different fields, we emphasize that all fields participate in this work and put expert output on the agenda of policy and decision-making layers. Naturally, these measures should be taken and appropriate solutions should be provided.”
Hashemi also said: “Certainly, the solutions will not be one-dimensional. I emphasize again that the solutions must be comprehensive and comprehensive so that we can move forward in this direction. Naturally, this path will have difficulties, but we believe that this solution can only be achieved through numerous meetings and the cooperation of various activists.”
He added: “I still stand by my words. I am definitely in contact with people and I consider myself responsible. My view is an expert and I believe that this view can help Mr. Hashemi and others.”
This cabinet member of the 14th government answered the question, “Have you read the internet quality reports of the E-Commerce Association?” he said: “I have received various reports, and in the short time that I have been stationed at the Ministry of Communications, I have ordered parts of them. We have put in work. Considering the priority of this matter, it will be followed up seriously, God willing.
In addition, the Minister of Communications said about people’s concerns about the interruption and restriction of the Internet with the development of the National Information Network in Paseh: “I have lived in an academic environment and my personal experience shows that most of what I have learned has been through international content production platforms.” Therefore, I cannot accept that we are without need of human knowledge. This is neither in our religious teachings nor in the sayings of elders. So you can be sure that the National Information Network will not limit the Internet.
