A member of the Parliament’s Presiding Board stated: The Iranian Exchange Center had transformed into a hub for currency smuggling, and its closure by the Central Bank was a significant step in the direction of regulating the country’s foreign exchange market.
According to IDEA, Alireza Salimi, a member of the Parliament’s Presiding Board, commented on the dissolution of the Exchange Center, saying: The Central Bank’s decision was a decisive measure and an important step in combating currency smuggling and misconduct in this area.
Through Telegram, the Exchange Center manipulated the price of the dollar in the country, causing fluctuations in the foreign exchange market, resulting in losses for the people, economic actors, and disturbing the market’s tranquility and stability.
The Exchange Center had turned into a hub for currency smuggling, causing harm and damage to the society and the country’s economy. Therefore, it can be said that regulating this area and dissolving the Exchange Center was a well-considered action.
Thanks to these measures taken by the government and the Central Bank, today the foreign exchange market has achieved relative stability, and we are no longer witnessing the previous fluctuations in this market.
Considering the relative stability and calmness prevailing in the foreign exchange market, we must seize this opportunity and prevent unauthorized exchange activities and profiteering.
