The head of the Organization of Regulations and Radio Communications announced in his editorial post news of a new record in the country’s internet.
According to what Amir Lajevardi has written on his editorial page, a new record was set in the country’s internet traffic simultaneously with the Iran-Japan game, reaching 7 terabits per second.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, he also announced that in the match between Iran and Syria, the total traffic inside and outside the country set a record and exceeded 12.5 terabits per second.
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eisa Zarepour, also republished Lajevardi’s editorial post and wrote: This is the result of the continuous development of the country’s communication infrastructure in the last two years. The maximum internal traffic experienced until the beginning of the 13th government was about 2.5 terabits per second, which has now almost tripled.
In September 2023, the head of the Regulatory and Radio Communications Organization announced during the match between Persepolis and Al-Nasr that the domestic traffic peak exceeded 6.3 terabits per second.
Last August month, he wrote on his editorial page: During the Persepolis and Al-Nasr game, once again the country’s communication infrastructure successfully underwent a test, and the domestic traffic peak reached 6.3 terabits per second. For the first time, the total peak of domestic and international traffic in the country set a record, surpassing 11 terabits per second.
