The CEO of “Boghrat” cited power outages and problems with the electronic version, the establishment of creation laws, and the lack of a trustee as one of the challenges of electronic health in 1402.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, Stating that 1402 was not a good year for the e-health industry, the CEO of the “Boghrat” platform stated that power outages and problems with electronic prescriptions, the establishment of laws on creation of hours and the absence of a unit trustee are among the most important challenges of this industry.
Mehrshad Teymouri said:”There were no positive points in 1402, only problems that damaged the reputation of digital health.”
Challenges of power outages and electronic version problems
Referring to the frequent outages of the Internet, servers and data center storage services, he said: “Some of these outages in the summer were due to power outages. However, when the doctor does not have the opportunity to see the patient’s file, all the problems will come to the platform and the support team will be challenged about this issue.
Teymouri added: “We experienced a storage outage even in the last days of the year. This is despite the fact that the last days of the year are the peak activity of some medical centers.
He emphasized: “By cutting off the doctor’s access to the patient’s file, we will eventually face challenges as a platform. In such a situation, the only place the doctor has access to is the platform’s support team.”
Teymouri cited infrastructure problems, data centers, electricity and internet outages, and national infrastructure problems as factors in the interruption of access to the patient’s file and added: “In between, there have always been online prescription challenges. As the last days of the year approach, social security disruptions have also increased and these disruptions have been present from the morning in a momentary and frequent form.”
Establishing sudden laws with irreparable consequences
Criticizing the sudden introduction of laws such as information sharing, Teymouri said: “In this process, a series of personal information of all people should have been presented to the government. While the information of the patient’s file is in the group of confidential information in all countries.
Emphasizing that the platform is committed to the doctors who have entered into cooperation with Boghrat, the CEO of Boghrat said about the right of ownership of the patients’ medical records: “Even the patient does not have the right to request the removal of the file from the platform. In any case, in a normal situation, the patient cannot ask the doctor to tear the physical file in the archive. The online platform that is the interface between the patient and the doctor; It has the same role as an archive room.
The CEO of Boghrat stated that some decisions are always announced without macro calculations and added: “There are different issues and problems in every field and an expert trustee should investigate the matter. This is despite the fact that there is no expert trustee in the field of health.”
The field of digital health is still without a single trustee
According to Teymouri, decision-making and planning of rules are done by non-specialist organizations and areas in the field of digital health.
Emphasizing that decisions are made at the macro level and cannot be implemented at the platform level, he said: “The main problem is the lack of the main custodian in the field of digital health. Trustees such as the Ministry of Health, Social Security Organization, Health Insurance and the Medical System Organization each make separate decisions about digital health.
According to Teymouri, one of these challenges was commenting on the storage of patients’ files in the servers of the Ministry of Health. In this situation, the basic question is, considering the lack of stability experienced in social security and health insurance servers, will the Ministry of Health suffer from lack of stability in maintaining this information?
Teymouri also raised the question of whether the Ministry of Health has an obligation to preserve this information. That is in the situation where the doctor is only in contact with the platform and demands the security of the information from the platform.
