CEO of Irancell welcomed the introduction of Sattar Hashemi as the proposed Minister of Communications of the 14th government and said: Considering Hashemi’s academic knowledge and executive experience, it can be said that the development of the digital economy is the option proposed by the Ministry of Communications.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, Irancell CEO Bijan Abbasiarand said about the 14th government’s choice for the position of the Ministry of Communications: I have known Hashemi since I was working in Shiraz and he was a member of the academic staff of the university. After that, in the last few years, he gained important experiences by being the vice president of the Infrastructure Communications Company and the vice president of technology and innovation of the Ministry of Communications. He was also active in the position of information technology vice president of the Civil Registry Organization for the last three years.
The CEO of Irancell Communication Services Company said: Hashemi is a worthy person in terms of personal and work characteristics, and I consider his presence in the Ministry of Communications to benefit the communication and information technology ecosystem and I am confident that the problems that exist in this area can be solved with the help of the government and the activists of the field and his presence.
He added: Hashemi listens to the concerns and issues of Fawa activists and is adept at interaction and consultation. For this reason, it can have a better connection with the body of the communication and information technology ecosystem. Academic and related education, presence in the body of communication and information technology, youth and motivation towards doing work and solving challenges have made him the choice to hold the Ministry of Communication in the 14th government.
Abbasi added: The field of digital economy is perhaps the most important sector that the future minister of communications and the president’s science and technology deputy are expected to focus on. Currently, the average share of the digital economy in the gross domestic product (GDP) of countries is about 15%. In Iran, the share of the digital economy in the gross national product (GNP) is about 7.5%, which is targeted to reach 10% for the seventh development plan; But by the end of the implementation year of this program, the average share of the digital economy in the gross domestic product of countries is predicted to be around 25-30%.
He added: The most important responsibility of the future Minister of Communications and actors in this field is to develop the infrastructure of the digital economy and monitor and facilitate the space for digital businesses, so that the share of the digital economy in the GDP increases.
