The Bill for the United Nations Convention on the Use of Electronic Communications in International Contracts Has Been Approved in the Parliament.
According to IDEA, members of the parliament, during the review of the Industry and Mines Commission’s report on this bill, approved both its general principles and details.
The single article of this bill states: ‘The United Nations Convention on the Use of Electronic Communications in International Contracts, consisting of a preamble and 25 articles, is approved, and the exchange of its documents is authorized.’
Rouhollah Abbaspour, the spokesperson for the Parliament’s Industry and Mines Commission, commented on the aforementioned bill, saying: ‘Certainly, the use of electronic communications in international commercial contracts is of great importance for our country. Nowadays, document registration in other countries is not done in paper form, and they conduct their business activities electronically. However, we still work with paper. Therefore, if we want to have extensive commercial relations with the world, we must also enhance our electronic communications.’
The representative of the people from Bouin Zahra and Avaj in the eleventh parliament continued: ‘Preventing violations, increasing the speed of operations, and reducing corruption are among the benefits of digitizing communications. Therefore, we must adhere to this international convention.’
