The CEO of Iran Telecommunication Company: the need to create a balance between operators’ income and expenses
According to the IDEA, with referring to the necessity of creating a balance between the income and expenses of the operators, the CEO of Iran Telecommunication Company emphasized that if this balance is upset, the industry will be harmed and the people will be harmed as a result.
Therefore, the balance between cost, price, investment and, as a result, the development of this discussion is very complex and important, which is not only a matter for the Ministry of Communications, but also an issue of economic governance in the country.
Majid Soltani – CEO of Iran Telecommunication Company, in an interview with ISNA, about the fact that currently the focus is on the development and completion of infrastructure, while the Internet industry in advanced countries has different layers and whether the necessary assessment for the added value chain has been done after that and Iranian telecommunication has entered in this field, He stated: Before I started working in this company, no significant action had been taken in the fixed sector, but due to the fact that a large part of the shares of the mobile sector also belongs to the telecommunications company, measures have been taken in this sector as well and it has advanced well.
He added: It can be said that in a way the mobile sector has covered the lack of work in the fixed sector and now we are trying to strengthen our income stream in this field in such a way that we are not subject to a crisis and are not limited to income dependent on approvals.
The way is to use income capabilities on different platforms on the internet or intranet, which fortunately, from the beginning, we dedicated a young and efficient educated team in telecommunications to design and provide attractive value-added services for customers.
CEO of Iran Telecommunication Company also stated: In the telecommunications company, it has been nearly five months since the Secretariat of the Fourth Industrial Revolution was activated and we handed over its work to Alborz Province Telecommunications, which is also conducting studies on the issue of digital economy and examining how telecommunications will enter this sector.
He added: I spoke at the opening ceremony of the Najma project in Chaharmahal Bakhtiari province, but the next important question is what do you want to do with it? Therefore, we requested the officials and managers of the province to use the capacities of the province for the proper use of the infrastructure created in line with the development of the digital economy, and Iran Telecommunication Company is ready to cooperate in this field.
Soltani clarified: Now there is a lot of capacity in the youth and industry in the provinces, but it has not been used and we have not guided them as to what they can do in this space. Part of the issue is being advanced by the Iranian Telecommunications and the other part by the Ministry of Communications, and we are trying to advance the issue of people’s exploitation and being able to create business and produce content on the networks. Although telecommunications in the fixed sector started a little late, but luckily the work has started now and we will have plans and projects in this direction in the near future.
In response to the question, what cooperation has Iran Telecommunication Company had with other countries in the field of infrastructure? He stated: We have worked on Iraq in this field and I personally traveled to the countries of the region. Until now, there was no structure for international work in telecommunications, so we started the work with the cooperation of a consultant and now we have dedicated a company to this matter and we are strengthening the structure, God willing, we will enter the market of regional countries in the near future.
