The CEO of Snapp! believes that the formation of an international union can have various achievements, the least of which is learning
According to the IDEA, The CEO of Snapp believes that the formation of an international union can have various achievements, the least of which is learning and using the experiences of activists from other countries. Of course, Khalaj emphasized that along with the formation of such unions, the views of the country towards foreign investors should be changed in order to double the effectiveness of this union.
At the end of October and during the Gitex 2023 exhibition, the plan to form a specialized regional union named “Middle East Digital Cooperation Union” was proposed by the Chamber of Commerce. “Shahab Javanmardi” by proposing this issue, announced the efforts of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, as a strong pavilion of the private sector, to form this alliance and strategic cooperation between the joint chambers of the countries of the region.
The unveiling of such a plan raised many questions in the minds of the activists of the information and communication technology industry. “Mohammad Khalaj”, the CEO of Snap, spoke about what the formation of the Middle East Digital Cooperation Union will achieve for the ICT industry:
“Regardless of the problems that exist for internal trade unions and also with the lack of cohesion and union for cyberspace businesses, the least benefit of forming such a union is learning and using the experiences of activists from other countries in governing interactions and facing regulation.”
He emphasized that cooperation with prominent and active companies in this field will transfer knowledge and preserve it in the country, and this will lead to the creation and development of diverse and new businesses in the country.
According to Khalaj, in ideal conditions with the formation of such cooperation, there will even be a possibility of market development and the entry of Iranian players in the field of digital economy into the countries of the region: “If the obstacles are removed, this union can greatly help the export of products.”
The issue that Snap’s CEO mentioned is something that activists in this field have been looking for for a long time. However, due to the large stone of sanctions, the activity in the regional market and the expansion of customers have not yet been realized.
In general, until the problem of sanctions is not solved, can we hope for the formation and functioning of the Middle East Digital Cooperation Union? Khalaj emphasized that the existence of sanctions could be the main obstacle to the formation of this union: “But we must consider that currently foreign investors in the country are not very welcome either.”
He believes that by facilitating the entry of new foreign investors, supporting current foreign investors, drawing a map of entry to exit of investors, facilitating entry to the stock market, etc., the function of this union will be doubled.
