A Tripartite Agreement Signed to Develop Emerging Technologies such as the Internet of Things in the Information Technology Ecosystem and Establish Independence in the Development of the National Information Network.
According to IDEA, this signing ceremony took place on Tuesday, September 13th of this month, with the presence of Dr. Khayatian, the head of the Innovation Fund, Dr. Dehghani, the Deputy for Scientific, Technological, and Economic Affairs of the Presidency of the Republic, and the CEO of one of the communication companies.
The purpose of this cooperation agreement
The purpose of this cooperation agreement is to effectively address technological needs in the information and communication technology ecosystem, enhance indigenous development in the development and production of critical and core network infrastructure, ensure the security and protection of data and information, develop emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and quantum technologies, and create opportunities for independence in the development of the national information network. It was signed between the parties.
The subject of this agreement is to facilitate and support the establishment and development of an innovation ecosystem and to enhance indigenous development in electronic and microelectronic technology infrastructure in the fields of communications and information technology, including critical and core telecommunications infrastructure, fifth and sixth-generation telecommunications infrastructure and equipment, Internet of Things infrastructure and communications, as well as commercialization, creation, or expansion of markets for knowledge-based companies active in the mentioned fields.
According to this agreement, it is planned that, based on the Science and Technology Parks Growth Law, one of the mobile operators will utilize tax exemption capacity to support the completion of the value chain, develop new products, and increase the scale and mass production of knowledge-based products.
Attracting investments from developmental organizations for the development of knowledge-based production in the mentioned fields, with the Innovation Fund as the agent, and creating the capacity for the export of products and intellectual assets produced in this field is another aspect of this agreement.
Increasing and leveraging financial resources in major projects related to the development of the innovation ecosystem and enhancing indigenous development in electronic and microelectronic technology infrastructure in the fields of communications and information technology through co-investment with the Innovation Fund and creating the capacity for financial support for this fund in collaboration with the country’s banking network and capital market, as stipulated in clause (a) of Article 17 of the Science and Technology Parks Growth Law, up to three times the capital contributed by another mobile operator, is the subject of this tripartite agreement, which has been signed.
