Divar data in a report published on the occasion of “Tick Tok Watch” World Day shows that in the first 9 months of this year, “Seiko” was the most popular watch brand
According to Iran digital economy annotation, The use of smart watches may have become more widespread in the past few years, but the Divar data shows that the market for classic watches is still hot.
In the first 9 months of this year, Seiko was the most advertised watch brand on the Divar, and users searched for this brand the most among all other brands. Among the smart watch brands, 90% of all searches are dedicated to Apple smart watches.
December 29th (8th of December), three days before the end of the year, has been named Tick Tock Clock Day so that the people of the world will remember that they should know the value of time and close the unfinished files.
On the occasion of this day, we have gone to the clocks on the Divar platform, to see whether the ticking clocks are still present in our daily lives or have been replaced by the all-fan rival smart watches.
Wrist watches, more prosperous and popular
Divar advertisers have been much more active in the subcategory of “wrist watch” than in the subcategory of “wall clock”. In the first 9 months of this year, the number of advertisements published for wristwatches was more than 2.2 times that of wall clocks.
The search for watches is much more. In total, during this period, Divar users have entered nearly 26 million times related to watches in the search bar of these two subcategories, of which nearly 21 million searches are related to wristwatches and more than 5 million searches are to find watches. It has been a Divar.
Advertising brands
Among the famous watch brands, next to the titles and text of the advertisements published on the Divar , “Seiko” is seen the most; The famous Japanese brand whose name appears in 25% of advertisements containing the name of the watch brand. After that, there is the “Apple” smart watch, which has allocated 23% of these ads. Interestingly, among the five brands that have the most advertisements, three of them are Japanese: Seiko, Casio, and Citizen.
Again the samurai flag is high!
Out of the 20 brands that appear among the most searched terms of users in the sub-category of “wristwatch”, “Seiko” (with 19%) is still on the top of the list. Among these brands, there are only 4 Japanese brands and the rest are mainly Swiss. However, these four Japanese brands, namely “Seiko”, “Casio”, “Citizen” and “Orient” together have nearly half of the watch brand searches.
Popular “Apple”
Divar users have been searching for smart watches in both wristwatches and digital goods categories and have entered nearly 6 million times related words in the search bar of these two categories. “Apple”, “Samsung” and “Xiaomi” are the brands that users have been looking for. Among these brands, Apple has been the most popular smart watch with a share of 90%.
Among the various Apple Watch series, Series 3 (with 26%) is the most searched for, followed by Series 7 and Series 6, respectively. At the end of this list is the SE series (with 5 percent).
Leading Kermanshahis
In the first 9 months of this year, the people of Kermanshah province have published the largest number of wall clock ads and the largest number of wrist watch ads in relation to their population. After that, there are Lorestan and Alborz provinces respectively.
On the other hand, Bushharis have been more expensive customers for watches. On average, the users of this province received more contact information from each hour advertisement in their province than other provinces. In this regard, Hormozgan and Kurdistan provinces are second and third respectively.
Are the wrist watches more modern or the wall ones?
The share of new ads among wristwatches is more than wall clocks. 45% of ads are for new wristwatches. In this way, wristwatch is one of the few subcategories in which the share of new and second-hand items is close to each other. Usually, the share of second-hand items in different Divar subcategories is significantly higher than new items. Like the “wall clock” subcategory, where nearly 70% of the ads belong to second-hand clocks.
Will this year’s unfinished business be finished?
Whether the clocks are ticking or not, the year ends and we are left with many unfinished tasks. Maybe every year, this ticking day, three months before the end of our year, is a good reminder for us that we have unfinished business and of course we still have time to finish them.
