After meeting with the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Scientific Vice President requested the help of this organization to protect the rights of knowledge enterprises
According to the IDEA, The Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy stated that during the trip which Rohullah Dehghani Firouzabadi took to Switzerland to participate in the meeting of the UN Human Rights Council’s Social Forum, he met with Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization.
In this meeting, after discussing about bilateral cooperation and training of teams that work in Iran in the field of intangible assets evaluation and registration of intellectual rights of knowledge-based companies, he decided to hold several training courses in this field in Iran with the follow-up of the scientific deputy and the support of WIPO.
After pointing out the importance of protecting the rights of Iranian knowledge-based companies when they are present in global markets, the scientific vice president also raised the problems in this field, which is a major challenge in the development of international markets of Iranian knowledge-based companies.
He called for the assistance of the World Intellectual Property Organization so that they can create a mechanism in the country that knowledge-based companies are included in the process of evaluating intangible assets and ensure that their rights are maintained in foreign markets.
At the end of this meeting, it was decided to hold talks between a delegation from the Scientific Vice-Chancellor and a group of WIPO experts to determine the framework of joint cooperation, and then a delegation from WIPO will travel to Iran to agree on the fields of cooperation and how to follow them up.
Amirhossein Mirabadi, the head of the Center for International Science and Technology Interactions of the President vice-Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, who accompanied Dehghani on his trip to Geneva, said:
“Explanation and serious attention to the issue of intellectual property is a very effective contribution to the rapid development of the international product market. knowledge-based and will lead to a significant change in the country’s knowledge-based economy.”
