The head of Regulatory and Communications Organization announced that 9 mm waves will be given to operators by the end of next year
According to Iran digital economy annotation, Irancell tested the download speed above 6 gigabytes at its stand in Telecom today, and after testing it, it requested the head of the regulator to give them access to millimeter waves. According to what Irancell announced, the discussion of using the 3.5 GHz frequency with the regulator has been finalized, but in order to provide this download speed to the subscribers, they need millimeter waves, including 9 mm.
Amir Lajevardi announced that the studies for handing over these frequencies are currently being done by the Radio Communications Regulatory Organization and we hope to be able to provide these frequencies to the operators by the end of next year.
He said: One of the evaluation factors of the National Information Network is the allocation of millimeter waves, and considering that we intend to complete the National Information Network by the end of next year, therefore we have planned the possibility of assigning 9 mm waves and above to Provide operators.
He mentioned the frequency as one of the country’s resources, therefore, he named resource management as one of the regulatory priorities for development. According to him, frequency waves will be very fruitful for the development of Siad communication and such fixed communication.
In response to the request of the operators to increase the tariff of internet packages, he said: We will not allow them to increase the tariff until the operators give us a guarantee of increasing the quality of the Internet.
