However, OK Exchange confirmed the data breach in a public statement, attributing the reason to a disruption in its technical team’s database migration process, which resulted in a limited number of users’ photos being made public.
According to IDEA, many user accounts announced on Friday that the user information of the Iranian digital currency exchange OK Exchange has been hacked, and this sensitive data of users is being circulated on the internet. OK Exchange’s response to this news was the release of a public statement on Friday.
In OK Exchange’s statement, the publication of a limited number of users’ photos was confirmed, and the reason for this issue was attributed to a disruption in their image database migration process, which was caused by OK Exchange’s technical team and resulted in the photos becoming public.
Furthermore, in this statement, it was mentioned that this issue occurred in the archive section of old user profile pictures, and the vulnerability did not affect users’ capital, transactions, or other account sections.
OK Exchange, in this statement, also apologized to users for the inconvenience and stated: The technical team of OK Exchange has taken timely action to prevent this issue.
Regarding the data that was made public, OK Exchange stated in this statement: No sensitive data from OK Exchange has been exposed, and all login and cryptocurrency withdrawal processes require two-factor authentication, which is why there is no need for users to be concerned about their assets.
