Ofood’s entry as a fresh competitor in the online food ordering market can break the monopoly created in this market
According to Iran digital economy annotation, “Ofood”, which started operating with the support of Golrang Group, according to the information obtained, within a month of operation, it has taken over 20% of the daily online food ordering market in Mashhad.
The interesting thing is the amount of sales of stores; According to the obtained statistics, the sales of some stores and restaurants active in Ofood in 3 days were equivalent to their 30-day sales in the competing platform (Snappfood).
Ofood’s entry as a fresh competitor in the online food ordering market can break the monopoly created in this market.
“Amin Salami Porgo”, the CEO of Ofood, previously estimated the size of the food ordering market in Iran at 3.5 billion dollars, of which 17% (nearly 600 million dollars) is the share of online food delivery. Based on the current dollar rate, this figure reaches more than 40 thousand billion tomans. According to Salami Pergo, 85% of this market is the share of Snappfood.
Previously, other startups were also active in the field of online food ordering, most of them have left the market or have a very small share of this market.
