The origin of the GPS disturbance is unknown
Javad Amel, the CEO of Neshan Router, criticized the GPS disruptions and said that it is still not clear which entity causes these disruptions. He added that no institution has yet taken responsibility for this issue and even the previous minister had admitted that the origin of this problem is not clear. Amal explained that these disturbances cause users to find themselves at the Mehrabad airport in situations such as the Hemmat highway and to be dissatisfied with the performance of the Neshan router, while this problem also exists in other routing applications such as Google Maps and Strava.
He announced that to reduce these problems, Neshan has designed a system to detect GPS spoofing, which determines the approximate position of the user based on the local information of the phone. The agent emphasized that although this solution does not create an ideal experience for users, it is a better option than the wrong display of the user’s location at Mehrabad airport. He also pointed out that these disruptions have caused serious problems, especially for drivers of internet taxis such as Snapp.
