Minister of Communications Emphasizes Expansion of E-Government Services, Aims for Government to Become an Icon Alongside Mobile Phone Icons. Zare’epour also promised that with the development of fiber optics, the country’s internet issue will be fundamentally resolved.
According to IDEA, Eisa Zare’epour, the Minister of Communications, stated during a visit to the provincial network in Zanjan that the future is a digital world. He noted that human life will become more entwined with new digital services each day and that we need to prepare ourselves for a digital transformation.
Referring to the Seventh Development Plan, he explained that in the field of digital transformation, it is predicted that all executive agencies of the country will explore new technologies like artificial intelligence, big data, and emerging technologies within a year. This exploration aims to determine their functionality in their respective domains and necessary infrastructure will be provided in this regard.
Zare’epour mentioned that over 22 million individuals have used the National Smart Government Services portal at least once. He stated, “Our ultimate effort is to turn the government into an icon alongside other icons on mobile phones, so that tasks can be done without physical visits, in the simplest and quickest way possible.”
The Minister of Communications also claimed that over the past week, due to the Arbaeen procession, voice and video calls on domestic messaging platforms have experienced a 50% growth.
We Will Solve the Internet Problem Fundamentally
Zare’epour, in another part of his speech, promised to solve the country’s internet issue fundamentally by developing high-speed internet infrastructure.
He described the fiber optics project as the infrastructure for the development and transformation of Zanjan province for the next few decades. He asked the people to collaborate in the execution of this project, stating, “To achieve this commitment, we must work day and night, which might cause some inconvenience for the people, but in the end, it will be beneficial.”
According to the Minister of Communications, a significant portion of the cost for the development and provision of fiber optics has been covered by the government. Companies have also invested, so the costs will not be substantial for the people.
