Nima Mohammadhassani, Senior Marketing Manager at Tapsell digital advertising agency, attended the series of meetings on the publishing industry in the age of AI at the 36th Tehran International Book Fair and addressed the issue of Iran’s publishing industry being left behind by rapid technological developments in the field of digital marketing.
According to Ideaagency, in this meeting, Mohammadhassani explained in a conversation with Sadegh Attarzadeh about the change in the marketing book market: “Since the Corona era, books have been abandoned as a source of specialized training in some fields, such as digital marketing. Because the speed of change is so fast that within a month of a book being published, a new algorithm, method, and social network emerges. In this situation, it is not possible to delete old books and publish new ones at the speed of technological change in an instant.”
He noted: “It can be said that digital marketing activists do not read books in their field of expertise in full. When we publish an annual report with practical statistics about marketing at Tapsell, the audience does not have enough patience to read it. That is why the practical summary of the book is considered in the world.”
Mohammadhassani added: “Currently, marketing knowledge can be learned from blogs. Along with the knowledge that is updated, the discussion of the experience and transfer of activists and experts in this field is raised. We need to examine the updated experience of individuals and organizations in this field.”
Regarding online education in the field of marketing replacing books, he said: “Negotiating with the publisher and the steps of publishing a book is a long and difficult process, but Tapsell Academy or the social network YouTube are not involved in steps such as waiting for permissions to publish educational content.”
This marketing activist said about the developments in advertising in cyberspace: “When we wanted to advertise and recruit on LinkedIn Marketing in 2013, there was no proper source, either Iranian or foreign, in cyberspace. Currently, content has been moved from text to video, and with GPT Chat, it is also possible to categorize and teach topics.”
Pointing out that marketing is not just about cost, he explained: “Apart from cost, the importance of content is also important. In Iran, we do not have special marketing events for books. If a publishing house focuses on this type of advertising, it can have better feedback.”
