In response to the summons of the CEO of Digikala, the Minister of Communications said that we should raise our tolerance threshold against domestic platforms
According to Iran digital economy annotation, Eisa Zarepour protested the announcement of the prosecution’s crime against Digikala on the sidelines of the government board meeting for insulting the sacred.
He said: “Determining the rules of these platforms is the responsibility of the Supreme Council of Cyber Space. This council has a plan under review that will be presented soon to determine the task for these cases, but in the absence of rules and regulations, my advice is that while dealing with any type of violation that happens, domestic platforms should be dealt with more patiently. “
Zarepour said: “In the recent incident, the responsibilities and duties of sellers and platforms should be separated from each other. There is no clear law in this field. We ask the parliament to decide on this matter.”
In defense of the domestic platforms, the Minister of Communications said: “These are the capitals of the country, which have made us unnecessary for the presence of foreign platforms in the country. Now, instead of eBay and Amazon in our country, Alhamdulillah, we have several domestic versions. We must raise the threshold of tolerance. Of course, this does not mean to turn a blind eye to the violation, so it should be determined how much the platform’s responsibility is. Of course, if a violation has been committed, there is a difference of opinion on these issues as well.”
Today, in response to this issue, the spokesperson of the Judiciary said that we do not tolerate insulting sacred things and that the Digikala case is under investigation.
