According to DigiKala’s performance report of 2023, Iran’s share in e-commerce has increased from 4% in 2022 to 6% in 2023.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, This report shows that out of this 6% share of online retail sales , 3% is dedicated to e-commerce and the rest is the share of social e-commerce or sales on social networks.
Also, in this report, it is stated that Digikala owns a quarter of the country’s e-commerce share, and other online stores with the electronic trust symbol also have another 1.5% of this share.
On a global scale, the report shows that the share of online retail sales has reached 19.5%, while Turkey has remained unchanged after the Corona era with a constant share of 20%. China also has the highest share of online retail sales in the world with 47%.
In this report, Digikala pointed out the existence of challenges such as disruptions in the product supply chain, restrictive laws such as banning the import of certain goods, slowing down internet speed and filtering, and despite these problems, it still reported the widespread attention of buyers and sellers to online stores.
