According to the IDEA, on Thursday, November 18, 2023, in the meeting of the Administrative Council of the Central Province, in the presence of Dr. Isa Zarepour, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amir Mohammadzadeh Lajevardi, Deputy Minister and Head of the Radio Communications Regulatory Organization, Engineer Reza Bagheri Asl, Deputy Minister. Affairs of the government, the parliament and the provinces of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Farzad Mukhles al-Aimeh, the central governor, Dr. Ali Akbar Karimi, the representative of the people of Arak in the Islamic Council, valiullah Bayati, the representative of the people of Tafresh in the Islamic Council, Engineer Mojtaba Ghasemi, the head of Arak Municipality, Engineer Mohammad Nowrozi, the director general Office of Coordination and Provincial Affairs of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Farhang Seifalian, Director General of Communications and Information Technology of Central Province, Dr. Bijan Abbasi-Arand, CEO of Irancell and a group of provincial and regional managers, fiber optic project memorandum between the first and largest digital operator of Iran and Arak Municipality, at the central province governorate was signed.
During a conversation with the Minister of Communications in this meeting, the CEO of Irancell, referring to the fiber optic development projects of homes and businesses by Irancell in different cities of the country, said: With the signing of this memorandum, the fiber optic project of Irancell and Arak Municipality has started and by the end of this project, 165 thousand subscribers from Fiber optic services for homes and businesses benefit from Irancell.
The Minister of Communications also said in this meeting: the country needs a high-speed network and no technology except optical fiber can provide high speeds. One of the most important projects in the 13th government is fiber optics for business houses and it is targeted to cover 20 million households.
He clarified: The implementation of the FTTH project in Khomein city requires city coordination and if this cooperation is done by the city management of Khomein with Irancell, this project will be put into operation in Khomein by the dawn of the decade.
Also today, during a live video link with the city of Khomein, Irancell’s fiber optic project started working in the city of Khomein with the presence of engineer Hamid Kamankesh, the governor of this city. During this project, Iran’s first and largest digital operator has started the implementation of optical fiber drilling for houses and businesses in Khomein city for the first time in Central province, with an implementation length of 35 kilometers.
Previously, Irancell’s new fixed high-speed internet service based on optical fiber was inaugurated on May 27, 2023, during a ceremony by the president. In this ceremony, the fiber optic internet service, which is known as “Fiber to Homes and Businesses (FTTx)” service, was put into operation in the form of “National Fiber Optic Homes and Businesses Plan” and Babol in Mazandaran province, as the first city, Irancell received this service.
Also, on the 22nd of October of this year, the memorandum of understanding on the development of fiber optic access in Shiraz with the cooperation of the Shiraz Municipality and the contract for issuing the drilling permit for the optical fiber project of Sadra City with the cooperation of the Sadra Municipality was signed in the presence of the Minister of Communications and on November 9, 2023, the executive operation Irancell’s optical fiber project in Tabriz was started in a ceremony with the participation of the municipality of this city and Irancell.
Also, in August 2023, Irancell received the Unified License Agreement for Network and Communication Services (UNSP) from the Minister of Communications and Information Technology. By receiving this license, Irancell, which has previously provided various communication and digital services, including the 2nd generation (2G), 3rd generation (4G), 4th and 4.5th generation (4G/LTE-A) and 5 (5G) and fixed high-speed wireless Internet services (WiMAX and TD-LTE) to its subscribers, officially joined the group of fixed communication service providers based on optical fiber (FTTx) and other communication services subject to the above resolution.
