For the fourth consecutive year, Irancell has published its sustainability report in order to review and comprehensively evaluate the organization’s performance.
According to Ideaagency, according to Irancell’s announcement, this report provides information about the organization’s performance, with a sustainability approach, in the period from March 21th 2022 to the end of March 2023, to subscribers, other stakeholders and interested parties, with a detailed look and in accordance with the standards of the day of sustainability in the Fava industry.
In Irancell’s fourth sustainability report, topics such as “basic issues of sustainability”, “management of interaction with stakeholders”, “emission of electromagnetic waves”, “network coverage”, “responsible behavior with subscribers”, “smart operator”, “human capital”, “CSI-Social Investment Projects”, “Environment” and “Digital Divide” are discussed.
Bijan Abbasi-Arand, the CEO of Irancell, in the opening note of the report, referring to the impact of Irancell’s services on the access of people in different parts of Iran to modern communication technologies and reducing the digital divide, wrote: “The path that Irancell has taken in these years for innovation, service to the people and development Iran has progressed, it doubles the responsibility of pursuing and improving economic, social and environmental indicators of sustainability in business for us.”
The CEO of Irancell stated in this note: “Identification, improvement plans and of course the reporting of different dimensions of ESG in different layers of business, on a voluntary basis and for the first time in Iran, reflects Irancell’s commitment and responsibility in this direction. A path in which the development of communication and digital technologies in all dimensions is one of its essential pillars.
In another part of the opening note of the fourth sustainability report, Irancell’s CEO said, referring to the operator’s efforts to reduce the digital divide: “Irancell’s deep commitment to reducing the digital divide and embracing modern communication plays a significant role in the growth and prosperity of the digital economy and ultimately reducing deprivation.”
He also listed Irancell’s general approach in the “economic” and “social” fields, and explained Irancell’s view on “environmental” issues: “Big problems such as land subsidence, climate pollution, waste crisis, extinction of animal and plant species in addition to Extreme weather events, such as floods and droughts, directly and indirectly affect not only future generations, but also livelihoods and health.
Millions of Iranians today, especially the weaker sections, have irreparable effects. In addition to citizens and governance, these issues require special attention of economic enterprises to sustainability in different layers of management and life cycle of products and services. Irancell, as a responsible corporate citizen, is trying to reduce the environmental effects of its operations and support sustainable methods in investing and managing its programs.
“Sustainability Report” is the advanced generation of reports of the world’s economic enterprises, which provides a comprehensive tool to review and evaluate the organization’s performance and its effects on society and the environment. The information of this report provides a big picture of the nature and extent of social-economic value creation and the quality of corporate governance to the organization’s stakeholders.
