Along with investors, the foundation invests in game makers to turn the ecosystem into an industry. The task of the foundation is to transform the ecosystem into an industry.
Referring to the importance of this field, Mohammad Amin Hajihashmi, CEO of the National Computer Games Foundation, said that computer games are the most profound means of conveying concepts.
There are many infrastructural limitations in the field of gaming
Hassan Mehdi Asl, the CEO of Sorena Games, said about the limitations of game development in Iran: There are many cultural limitations in Iran, and so far there has not been much investment in the field of games. Also, infrastructural limitations and filtering have caused the complexity of this field. Referring to the pristine market of computer games in Iran, Mehdi Asl said: despite the limitations, this ecosystem in Iran is pristine and labor is cheaper than other countries, that’s why it creates high efficiency and profit.
Referring to the importance of electronic sports in the world, the CEO of Sorenagame said that electronic sports is a serious discipline in electronic games that has a large scale and prizes in the world, but it has not yet taken shape in Iran.
We do not invest in video games
Referring to the lack of video game investors in Iran, Shahriar Azharianfar, the founder of Amirza, said: “Investment happens where there is trust.” Game development needs to show itself beyond borders. Publishing the game internationally takes time. The investment problem must be solved at the root, not in a capsule.
Emphasizing the negative impact of filtering, Azharianfar said that the impact of filtering will become clear in the long term.
Abolfazl Sadegh, CEO of Tetro Puzzle, said about investment in the game field: Investment needs to be recognized. In the gaming industry, scalability is very high. Investors are better off investing in a high number of teams because eventually one has high profitability. In Iran, little investment has been made in the conditions where the income generation in this industry is very high.
Game makers and investors don’t know each other well
Mohammad Zahtabi, CEO of Paeizan, said about the importance of investors and game developers knowing each other: Unfortunately, this knowledge is very little, very little, and we don’t know how much their capital is, and on the other hand, they don’t know about this ecosystem either.
He continued: When the concern of the game makers is filtering, the foundation should be more active and act as a mediator.
Furthermore, Ali Nad alizadeh, CEO of Tat Studio, said about the lack of investment in this ecosystem: Iran’s investment environment is far from the game. It seems that there is no building of trust from the side of the game maker and the investor.
According to Nad Alizadeh, there is little education in the field of games from the foundation, there is no such field of study in universities. He continued: With these conditions, we ourselves have gone to the audience.
CEO of Tat Studio said: Filtering spaces like YouTube and Google Play are very harmful. The wrong decision of the government has a negative impact on the game makers.
