E-commerce in the first half of the year has grown by 56% compared to the first six months of last year, which is partly due to inflation. According to the head of the e-commerce development center, the financial turnover of this department will reach $86 billion by the end of the year.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, “Amin Kolahdoozan”, the head of e-commerce development center, presented a report on the state of this field in the first half of 2024 at the National E-commerce Day event. Based on that, e-commerce has grown by 56% during this period compared to the same period last year.
Kolahdoozan said: “The volume of e-commerce transactions in the last six months has reached nearly $40 billion, which is 56% more than the first half of 2023.”
He expressed hope that e-commerce will grow by 74% by the end of the year, equivalent to last year’s growth. Kolahdoozan said: “According to estimates, e-commerce turnover will reach $86 billion by the end of the year.”
The Electronic Commerce Development Center announces the growth statistics of this sector as “nominal”; Part of this growth happened due to inflation and the effect of price growth can be seen in the statistics.
Enamad export growth in 2024
The head of the development center said about the process of issuing Enamad in 2024: “In the first six months of the year, more than 48,000 Enamad were issued, which is 23% more than the first half of 2023.” Now they have nearly 250,000 Enamad companies.
According to Kolahdoozan, 27% of Enamad owners are women and 73% are men.
He also explained about the age composition of these people: “Nearly 30% of Enamads issued in the first half of the year belonged to people between 20 and 30 years old. 3% of these people, 1,500 businesses, are also under 20 years old.
The head of Teta Center continued: “The number of transactions also reached 2 billion 300 million and increased by 20% compared to last year. Also, during the first half of the year, 2,797,000 electronic signature certificates were issued, which has increased by 79.5% compared to the same period.
In the continuation of his speech, he invited the activists of this field to participate in the elections of the Virtual Businesses Union: “The elections of the Virtual Businesses Union will be held on 30 Mehr after many setbacks. As an e-commerce development center, we invite all business owners to participate in this election. I hope we will see a strong union as soon as possible and all organizations in this field will cooperate with each other.”
