The meeting of digital health activists with the Social Security Organization in order to find a solution to facilitate laboratory services led to a mutual agreement.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, in August of this year, the Social Security Organization warned in a letter about the cooperation of laboratories with digital health businesses and emphasized; In case of not complying with this issue, the laboratories will face heavy financial fines.
Then, at the request of the Digital Health Commission of the Computer Trade Union Organization, a meeting was held with the presence of the Social Security Organization and digital health platforms on September 17 to investigate and solve the challenges.
In this meeting, which was held with the presence of representatives from the Social Security Organization, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Virtual Space Center, the Ministry of Health, the Vice President for Science and Technology, the National Center for Improving the Business Environment of the Ministry of Economy, and representatives of active platforms in this field, health platforms Digital committed to comply with the principles of confidentiality of patient information. Also, sampling should be done under the supervision of accredited laboratories.
According to the license “Electronic services of startups in order to facilitate laboratory services” or license number 1423576, which was agreed upon in this meeting, digital health platforms must create a platform for effective communication between the patient and the laboratory. These platforms committed to perform laboratory sampler authentication of patients based on reference laboratory standards.
In addition to digital health platforms, the National Center for Business Space of the Ministry of Economy committed to announce the specific time of activation of the license for “electronic services of startups in order to facilitate laboratory services” to the Ministry of Health.
The Center for Statistics and Information Technology of the Ministry of Health also committed to notify the social security organization of the standards included in the “electronic services of startups in order to facilitate laboratory services” license.
At the end and after thinking with the institutions participating in the meeting, the representatives of digital health platforms emphasized that health platforms are trying to reduce the costs of diagnosis and treatment with the help of technology.
