Digikala’s “Smile Reaches Home” event was held in Tehran’s Vahdat Hall with the aim of presenting statistics of this business as well as telling the story of Digikala’s managers.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, at the beginning of this ceremony, Masoud Tabatabei, the CEO of Digikala, told the story of his stay in Iran and his experience working in startup companies and entering Digikala.
He said that we are trying to create hope for the future of Iran with the help of Digikala. Tabatabei stated: “For the first time in 2016, I thought why I did not leave Iran in the Shapuor Detention Center. At that time, I remembered my mother saying that if people like you leave the country, who wants to fix the country.”
The CEO of Digikala pointed to the activity of 430,000 Marketplace sellers of this online store, who bring bread to their tables through Digikala.
At the end of his speech, Tabatabaei said: “In these years, I have always believed that we should build hope.” “I would like the day my child reaches the age of decision to stay in Iran by his own choice.”
In the continuation of this ceremony, a panel was held with the performance of Mansour Zabetian about the social responsibility activities of Digikala. One of the female entrepreneurs in the provinces of Iran stated in this panel that with the help of Digikala, she was able to start a business that employed more than a hundred people in her city. The manager of “Digikala Mehr” stated in this panel that instead of donating money in the form of social responsibility, Digikala has invested in the infrastructure of this field in different regions of the country.
In another part of the ceremony, Kamal Riazi, Vice President of Human Resources of Digikala explained the story of his entry into Digikala and said that Digikala is like Real Madrid team for him and different people in this company do all kinds of work and have their own job description. He stated that during the 17 years of operation of Digikala, more than 50 thousand people have cooperated with this company and now 12 thousand people are working in Digikala.
In the continuation of the ceremony, Shaghayegh Mohammadi, the legal vice president of Digikala, spoke about the daily legal challenges of this company and said that a few years ago, the arrest warrant for the Mohammadi brothers was wrongly issued to them! He clarified that Digikala’s legal challenges are different from the traditional legal environment in the country.
At the end of the ceremony, Hamid and Saeid Mohammadi, the founders of Digikala, told the story of their lives and dreams until Digikala became the company we know today.
