According to Iran digital economy annotation, this trade union has declared its readiness to cooperate and interact with legislative institutions to analyze and formulate laws related to this field, and once again emphasizes the need to pay attention to the separation of responsibility between platforms and their users.
In the text of this statement, it is written: “The lack of specific legal mechanisms in the field of professional responsibilities of platforms has provided the ground for costly encounters by some institutions and unrealistic and of course worrying analyzes by a group of media.
These crises take place in a situation where earlier and in a relatively similar situation, the CEO of the Wall platform with the judgment of the appeals court and with a clear reference to the importance that “the criminal responsibility of publishing and supplying criminal content on internal user-oriented platforms rests with the user who publishes it”. He has been acquitted of the imputed charges.”
In this statement, this trade union has declared its readiness to cooperate and interact comprehensively with legislative institutions to analyze and formulate laws related to this field: “We hope that we will not witness similar situations again and we will not weaken the sapling of hope.”
After announcing the filing of a court case, the CEO of Digikala was arrested on 11nd of February and released a few hours later with the appointment of security. However, the fate of this court case is still unknown.
After the story of the arrest of Digikala’s CEO was reported in the media, a number of startup ecosystem activists reacted to this incident on their virtual pages. “Ashkan Armandehi”, the CEO of Divar platform, also mentioned on his page on the X social network that threats, suspensions and obstructions or arrests and court cases have a clear message:

Also, Milad Monshipour, the CEO of Tapsi, was among the people who reacted to the arrest of the CEO of Digikala. He wrote about this: “It is not acceptable that such decisions are made out of ignorance, and these actions cause the destruction of the little remaining hope, and the destruction of hope means putting an ax to the roots of the country.”
