The fiber optic network development project (FTTX) started with the effort and investment of Asiatech company in the center of this province.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, the fiber optic network expansion (FTTX) drilling project in Semnan city on Thursday, 30 January 2024 with the presence of Asiatec Data Transmission Company managers, “Mohammad Reza Hashemi”, Governor of Semnan, “Seyed Yaser Hasanpour”, Director General of the Department Communications and Information Technology of Semnan province, “Mohammed Bahrami”, the governor of Semnan and “Hossein Mousavi”, the mayor of Semnan, started in Imam Reza square of this city.
The implementation of the fiber optic network (FTTX) development project in Semnan requires 110 kilometers of excavation in this city and will provide access to 50,000 households and hundreds of businesses to Asiatec’s high-speed fiber optic (FTTX) internet from the summer of next year.
According to the announcement of the General Administration of Communications and Information Technology of Semnan province, “with the implementation of the fiber optic network, the people of this city will benefit from high-quality, secure internet with dozens of times the current speed and hundreds of megabits per second.” Another advantage is the exploitation of economic activists, businesses and the development of the digital economy in Semnan.
Connecting four cities of Semnan province to Asiatech optical fiber
After Garmsar, Mehdi Shahr and Damghan, Semnan is the fourth city in this province where Asiatech is responsible for the fiber optic network (FTTX) development project. At the same time, Asiatech is implementing the optical fiber development project and facilitating the access of households and businesses to ultra-fast internet based on FTTX in eight provinces of Mazandaran, Kermanshah, Zanjan, Lorestan, Fars, Isfahan, Chaharmahal Bakhtiari and Tehran. According to “Mohammed Ali Yousefizadeh”, CEO of Asiatech, “The first executive operation of the Asiatech optical fiber project started in October 2023 in Chalus city of Mazandan province. Although our commitment according to the issued license is about one million five hundred thousand households, but our estimate is that we can provide access to optical fiber for four million households by the end of 2026.
