Snapp announced the start of the test phase of the Carpooling service in the near future.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, according to Snapp, Carpooling can play an effective role in reducing costs, traffic and air pollution.
In this regard, Snapp CEO Mohammad Khalaj said: “Checking the capabilities of this service has been on the agenda of SnappKhodro for several years, and now we are considering implementing its trial phase.” Khalaj said about the benefits of this service: “The shared travel service emphasizes the maximum use of the capacity of the cars in motion by making people travel together, and it leads to cost savings, traffic reduction, increased parking space, and finally reducing air pollution.” »
In this service, passenger users first register their travel information – including the origin, destination, time and number of passengers allowed – then the service tries to choose fellow travelers according to the route and travel time of the user. Connecting companions is done automatically through route matching. After selecting the next passenger or passengers, travel information will be sent to these people. The travel companion will also accept the offer if the travel conditions are appropriate. In shared trips, the cost of the trip is usually divided and paid based on the distance and number of passengers. Price calculation is also done through Snapp’s smart pricing algorithm.
Snapp believes that the shared travel service makes the maximum use of transportation capacities, and with its help, in addition to reducing travel costs, the number of cars in motion is also reduced. The company intends to officially unveil this service after passing the test and market research.
