Director General of Standards of Tehran Province announced to online stores that they should refrain from supplying goods subject to mandatory standards that do not have a standard license.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, Mohammad Hossein Taheri, Director General of Standards of Tehran Province, referring to Article 15 of the Law and Strengthening and Development of the Standard System, explained: “Therefore, whenever the implementation of the standard regarding goods and services is declared mandatory, the production, concentration, distribution and sale of such goods And services without the standard mark or the approval of the National Standards Organization of Iran are prohibited.
He continued: “Due to the increase in the number of online stores and the public’s preference for offline shopping, the supervision of standard inspectors has also been expanded, and this has been announced through correspondence with the e-commerce development center.”
Taheri added: “In order to protect the rights of consumers and ensure the quality and authenticity of the goods offered in virtual stores and systems, these stores should refrain from supplying non-standard goods.”
He emphasized: “The list of goods subject to mandatory standards is available to the public on the portal of the National Standards Organization of Iran, and the information of the production units covered by this organization is also available to the public in the relevant system.”
At the end, this official advised the citizens to refrain from buying non-standard goods under the pretext of their affordable price: “Citizens can send the ten-digit code below the standard mark to SMS system 10001517 to ensure the authenticity of the standard mark inserted on the product. or inform the experts of the General Directorate of Standards of Tehran Province by calling 1517.
