The CEO of Divar Platform believes that in today’s world, access to high-speed and high-quality Internet is one of the main criteria for development in the world, and creating an obstacle in the way of Internet access for citizens is equal to creating an obstacle in the path of progress and development of the country.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, he also believes that obstructing access to the Internet is detrimental to the national interests and against the interests of Iranian citizens in terms of development and growth compared to the progress of other countries.
“Ashkan Armandehi” said about the report on the state of the internet published by the Electronic Commerce Association:
“According to the details included in the association’s report, the current state of the Internet in Iran – in simple words – leads to the backwardness of Iran and Iranians compared to other societies. It happens in the world. This happened while there is a heavy competition in other countries to increase the speed and improve the quality of the Internet, and the governments are trying to simplify the access of citizens to the Internet and also to improve the development index.”
The simplest things in Iran are security issues
In response to reporter’s question, Armandhi said: “Unfortunately, the simplest issues in the country become political and sensitive issues on a national scale. In our country, the simplest things, even the dancing and singing of a retired man in the market of his city, are considered a security issue. “Naturally, when issues like this happen and in the end no one provides a detailed explanation to clarify the origin of the problem, an issue like the Internet no longer has its place.”
Increasing the quality of the Internet means better service to the people
Armandehi believes that a high-quality and uninterrupted internet is equal to a qualitative and quantitative increase in the use of online services by citizens. He also emphasizes that the increase in citizens’ experience and knowledge regarding the Internet leads to an increase in the level of expectation and public taste in receiving better and more up-to-date services:
“When there is this increase in awareness in society, businesses also provide better services and All these events will lead to the creation of a more efficient ecosystem and the growth of the digital economy.”
“If businesses and service providers don’t constantly improve themselves and their services, they will be eliminated in today’s fast-paced, competitive world,” he told reporters about the costs of Internet disruption. Such conditions create a win-win situation for both service providers like us and for our people and users; Because it has encouraged us to continuously strive to provide better services and people receive better and higher quality services day by day. If we imagine the opposite of these conditions, there will be many damages and costs.”
He continued: “Of course, we and other similar companies, even in this situation, will make every effort to increase the quality of our services day by day, but naturally, when the general conditions are difficult or impossible in terms of uninterrupted Internet access, The quality of everything has a destructive effect. Currently, keeping in mind the current conditions, we are witnessing the migration of experienced and specialized forces. In such a situation, what can we do to fill the void of such forces?
It is necessary to review the filtering
Armandehi believes that filtering and blocking routes is nothing but self-sanction, removing oneself from global markets and moving away from the path of development. Regarding the review of the filtering situation, he told reporters that a review of the filtering is an essential need: “As much as sanctions harm the country, these actions are dangerous and destructive for the country, and naturally, a review in this regard is our essential need today.”
