According to the Iran digital economy annotation, digital economy means the change and transformation of economic processes through digital technologies; In the fourth industrial revolution, with the advancement of technology, communication, e-commerce, the expansion of online communication and data exchange, the digital economy has been institutionalized as a new dimension in the global economy.
The growth and evolution of the digital economy will be realized with new digital technologies, and these technologies are the main driver in the growth process of the digital economy. The widespread use of artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, data mining, cloud technologies, cryptocurrency, blockchain, quantum, virtual reality or augmented reality, robotics and other new technologies play an enabling role in the structure of the ecosystem of the digital economy.
One of the serious demands in the discussion of digital economy is to provide quality internet to people; Based on this, the plan of fiber optics for homes and businesses with the approval of the parliament and the creation of a fund for it is considered an important action of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, which will definitely have a significant impact on improving the quality of the fixed communication network and even the mobile communication network.
So far, 9 operators have been working in this plan. At present, these operators have started the fiber laying movement in about 160 cities, and about 3,300 kilometers of digging and channeling and about 2,700 kilometers of fiber laying have been done, and services have also started in 105 cities.
For example, in recent days, all 37 cities of Golestan province were covered by fiber optic services with speeds of several hundred megabits, although the noteworthy point is that this statistic is apart from the recent activities and actions of Iran Telecommunication Company.
In total, so far, more than 5 million households in the country have been covered by fiber optic services, which is considered a revolutionary and transformative action.
In this regard, the 24th Telecom exhibition was opened yesterday in the presence of the officials, and Seyed Ali Malek Jafarian – Telecommunications Manager of Tehran region – on the sidelines of this exhibition, Telecom considered the 24th very exciting and stated: Considering that Telecom 2023 after Two break periods are being held. Many companies have come enthusiastically and with their up-to-date services.
He added: Telecommunications has also tried to be customer-oriented, considering the special services and achievements it has had over the years, with a wide presence in the IT and ICT sectors and paying special attention to artificial intelligence and optical fiber-based services. This exhibition will show and provide the mentioned services to the visitors.
The director of telecommunications of Tehran region stated: Many institutions and organizations, especially government offices and companies, have mechanized and digitized their services due to the attack of the Civil Registration Organization and Master Registration Organization and are providing services using the most up-to-date technology services. We are witnessing the growth and development of the cyber space in the country and we can well witness the leap of technology in the country’s economy.
He further pointed to the government’s new approval for the development of optical fiber and said: due to the implementation of the Najma plan under the management of the CEO of Iran Telecommunication, we have witnessed the expansion and development of optical fiber over the past two years, and along with the government’s needs, telecommunication has also tried To provide optical fiber-based services, especially smart home and gaming services to its users.
