Ehsan Khandouzi, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, emphasized the need to pay more attention to solutions for financing knowledge-based public and private companies to realize a productive economy. Speaking at the inaugural national event for the knowledge-based industry held at the National Library Convention Center, he stated that after experiencing a decade of low growth and almost zero investment in the 90s, the first two years of the 13th government aimed to break free from zero growth and investment as we entered the year 1400, especially in 1401, which has been achieved to an acceptable extent.
Minister of Economic Affairs Emphasizes Role of Knowledge-Based Companies in Economic Transformation
According to IDEA, Ehsan Khandouzi, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, emphasized the importance of knowledge-based companies’ participation in achieving transformative and quality economic growth. Speaking at the first national event of the knowledge-based industry held at the National Library Convention Center, he stated, “This transformation and transition won’t happen without the involvement of large knowledge-based companies, so continuous efforts are needed for the quality of economic growth.”
He further stressed that the Ministry of Economy’s efforts aimed to create the groundwork for this transformation, shifting from the conventional model of economic growth towards a new model, with a significant part of this groundwork, related to financial provision, falling under the Ministry of Industry’s jurisdiction. He mentioned the need to direct water flow channels, liquidity, and financial support to make our new farms more productive.
Regarding technology funds, Khandouzi noted an increase of 300 billion tomans in capital, specified under Article 18 of this year’s budget. However, he expressed readiness to consider a higher figure, although there were limitations from private shareholders. He also highlighted the significance of guarantees and documents for companies in the field of financial provision and mentioned the development of documentation in the SETAREH system.
Furthermore, he mentioned the issuance of guidelines for the valuation of knowledge-based companies, all of which play crucial roles in improving the financial support system for these companies. The Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance also noted a 160% increase in facilities for knowledge-based companies in the past year, with a 260% increase in the first five months of this year.
